The Vault Adventures that make it all worth while The Gift of the Wonder Woman Belt Buckle Los Angeles Anyone that knows me knows that I have a great fascination with the character of Wonder Woman , specificly the television series starring Lynda Carter . Needless-to-say I was thrilled that I was going to meet an artist who had so much to do with the show's success. I was invited by make-up artist Julie Socash to meet Cheri Ruff . Cheri was an accomplished and highly-regarded hairdresser in the motion picture and TV industry. Her client list included luminaries like Elizabeth Taylor and Shirley McClaine . But, most exhilarating for me was that Cheri Ruff had been the Key Hair on my favorite TV show! But then the most amazing thing happened! From her handbag, Cheri produced a leather pouch. She handed it to me and said "I want you to have this. I know that you will understand and appreciate it". I reached inside the pouch and pulled out this unbelievable personal treasure! A gold belt buckle from Lynda Carter to Cheri upon the wrap of the show in 1978. As I understand there are only 50 of them. < At Left: The front of the buckle I spent a delightful time with Cheri and Julie hearing war stories from Hollywood sets and about her own adventures on the Wonder Woman set. For example, she told me that, since it was a character and a brand, the producers would measure the distance from the tip of WW's tierra to the peak of the height of her hair to assure themselves that was identical each time. At Right: Julie Socash, Cheri Ruff, Thom Cammer > Thank You Cheri, for the wonderful gift! (Pun intended) And Thank You, Julie, for bringing us together. I felt as though I was being given a magical talisman and that it was a sign that I was on the right path. It was like some cosmic circle was suddenly completed. It was such an act of kindness that it has inspired me deeply on many levels. You both have become one of my Wonder Women! At Right: The back of the buckle > Lucia Di Lammermoor Commonwealth Opera Northhampton, Mass Starring Andrea Chenowith Wells Produced and Directed by Eve Summer How exciting it was when I was asked if I would create the wigs and hairstyles for a lavish production of Lucia Di Lammermoore to be presented by Commonwealth Opera at a venue in North Hampton, Massachusetts. It was marvelous, masterful production that I was thrilled to be part of. In 2010 I was asked if I would create wigs for a production of Lucia Di Lammermoore to be presented by Commonwealth Opera at a venue in North Hampton, Massachusetts. It was a regal production that I was thrilled to be part of. Please enjoy a exerpts from this opera as presented in this sizzle reel from Commonwealth Opera producer and director Eve Summer. On Location with Impact Earth Futureshock: Comet Impact (aka Impact Earth) is a Sci Fi adventure story from prestige UK production company, Darlow Smithson . The story centers around two devastating comets on a deadly collision course with Earth. After the first comet hits, releasing massive natural disasters, our band of hero's struggle amidst chaos and social anarchy to find a way to divert the second, bigger comet and save what remains of Human civilizations! UK Line Producer Geraldine Hawkins , working this time with the highly regarded, London-based Darlow Smithson Productions, once again assembled a crew of extraordinary artists and technicians, many of whom had worked together before. It is really great when there is a feel of professional family on the set! The production was shot primarily in and around the Phoenix, Arizona area, with many locations being within 50 miles of the Central Phoenix area. Later in the shoot we moved to Tucson , Arizona for some more rugged, outdoor shooting. Among the talented artists and technicians that I worked with was make-up artist Debra Schrey . The job that we had before us was no small task. But thanks to some great teamwork we managed to wrangle quite a big cast in some really challenging situations! Comet co-star, spandabulous UK Actress, Singer and Songwriter Kirsty Mitchel l and I during a break in shooting in the desert sunshine on Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, AZ . She's a doll and a very talented actress. Above: Our rock star plane set to take us to Meteor Impact Crater, Our fearless director, Keith Boak , our Dashing 1st AD Robert Fabbri . One of the coolest things that happened during the filming of Comet was that several small aircraft were hired to fly a skeleton crew to Meteor Impact Crater near Winslow, Arizona, to do the big money shot for the piece. Now, you see, back in the day my father, Howard Cammer , was an air traffic controller and a private pilot. We grew up taking many family trips in his airplanes just as some folks take the family roadster to their favorite holiday spots. Being back on-board a small aircraft, flying below the clouds and being able to see everything that lay before us with such vivid clarity brought back many thrilling memories for me. I'm glad I got to share the experience with such great people! Above: Coming up on Meteor Impact Crater . That little white shape to the left is a huge State Park Facility they built. The crater is really big! The speck in the middle of the crater is a full-sized pump house / fuel house. It was created and used for the only other motion picture ever allowed to shoot at the crater, that being Starman with Jeff Bridges . The only road into and out of the crater itself is called Starman Road , because it was created specifically for that production. I felt very fortunate to be able to get so close to a natural phenomenon like that! Actors Christian Solimeno and James Wilby were real troopers. This scene involved them flying around in a helicopter then dashing out to inspect the damage at the crater site. They handled their stunts with ease and made for a great shot in the film. Please enjoy these exciting trailers for this thrilling sci-fi action adventure. Watch for full broadcasts on UK Channel 5 and The Discovery Channel. London Edge Catwalk shows Tish & Snooky's MANIC PANIC London The London Edge Shows Were Smashing! Tish & Snooky's MANIC PANIC and Thom Cammer join forces with RAH Productions for London street fashion runway shows extroidinare! The event was held at London's Olympia Center , a huge convention space and premier fashion show venue. Alternative clothing, jewelry and accessory designers and distributors from all over the world gather at London Edge twice per year to present new, cutting-edge fashions trends. This year, Tish and Snooky of Manic Panic, NYC invited me to be on the creative team for the runway shows that run over the course of the three-day event. The event coordinators at RAH Productions assembled a top drawer group of models and clothing stylists for what became a much talked-about, highly-anticipated series of shows! We set up shop at Olympia Center and got right to work. The models and Choreographer Johnny Vukusovic began rehearsing the FIVE seperate segments that would make up one London Edge Show. There were two shows every day. RAH Productions Creative Director, Paul Swaby and DJ Ryan picked some hot beats for the soundtrack of the shows. Every segment of the show had specific clothing themes curated by Roz Lucas and the RAH Styling Team . The clubwear and street fashion influences for each show ranged from 1950's Rock-a-Billy to Gothic Vampire. Many thanks to Tish & Snooky of Manic Panic for bringing me in on such a very cool project! It was a personal and professional success for me. I am forever grateful to you for the fine adventure! I would also like to thank Rachel Todd & Falltricks Academy in London for providing us with stellar academy students who assisted us during the three-day event. A heart-felt Special Thanks to Lady Carole Salisbury for her treasured friendship and generous hospitality! xoxo Many more pictures and stories Coming Soon
